Some dude: How much do I need to pay on my Visa to avoid paying extra fees & interest?
Me: Well, your balance from purchases on the card is $548, so if you pay that before the due date you can avoid interest. Otherwise the minimum payment is $25 this month.
Some dude: (now annoyed) Why do I have to pay it all or get charged interest? Seems like a harsh penalty.

In short, if you are stupid and think credit cards are magical free money, you probably should not have one.
